1. Lingerie Galore – Although our grandmothers taught us, that undergarments should remain…well, just that…under the garments, this season, these rarely seen items seduced their way to the surface.

While hints of lingerie peeked here and there in previous seasons, this time designers such as Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs chose blatant exposure by centering braziers and corsets as the focal point of an outfit. 2.Pastel Romance– after months of gloomy winter accompanied by lots of black and grey, this spring-appropriate trend is greeted with an open arms (or wallets).  Designers embraced pastels masterfully – Doo. Ri and Donna Karan concocted draped creation that were the epitome of elegance. Thakoon demonstrated a sexy twist by combining asymmetrical cuts and draping. Derek Lam combined pastels to create a playful two tone dress reminiscent of a child’s pastels painting.

This season, plan to add a few dreamy, draped, and asymmetrical pastel pieces to your closet, as they are bound to serve as key foundational pieces in any wardrobe collection.

3. Floral Utopia – the catwalks blossomed with floral trends.  Some of designer’s creations featured soft colors and delicate bloom patterns while others showcased strong hues and bold floral imagery. Most memorable was a dress shaped like a flower by Marchessa.  Equally appealing was a flower appliqué decorated dress by J. Mendel.
